WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

I am Rudy Maurice Vandecappelle, originally from Belgium, now living in France
after 12 beautiful years in the Scottish Highlands
I studied Arts for over 15 years and have been painting for more than 35 years.
Now I specialise in animal and people portraits in a modern, new technique.
The combination of a Dry Brush with a mixed technique, painted in acrylics and oil paint on paper, gives me the means to paint realistic, lifelike portraits.
I hope you enjoy my work which could be an ideal gift, birthday or Christmas present.
If you would like to purchase a painting, have a look at the "For Sale" page and get in touch with me using the Contact Sheet.
If you would like a commission done, all I need is a good quality digital photograph, or even a scan of an old photograph, send to my email:
Some of my painting processes have been filmed and can be viewed on YouTube
These can be found following these steps:
Go to YouTube and put in the search: Rudy Vandecappelle - my paintings should come up.
An original work of art could be the ideal gift for weddings, anniversaries, new born, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, birthdays, ...

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Dry brush technique is a modern style of painting in which oil paint, bristle and synthetic brushes are used on paper or fabric. A few drops of solvent can be used and a rubber eraser for highlights and details.
The technique requires the paint brush to be relatively to very dry, but still holding paint.

Dog portraits "Nellie and Gracie"
(Dry brush on paper - 40  x 60 cm)

The picture looks just great as it is Rudy.
You’ve managed to capture the character
of our two dogs briliiantly!
I know my wife will be over-joyed with the result.
I’ve since shown my daughter (who can be very critical!) and she is blown away with it!
She’s even thinking of having a commission
of her own cat!
